Shannon came to Burkhart & Company in January of 2000. She joined the firm after working in North Carolina with Ernst & Young and BDO Seidman. Shannon received her Master of Accountancy degree from Wake Forest University in 1998 and her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a major in Accounting from the University of Tennessee in 1993. She graduated from both programs with honors and  received a full academic scholarship to attend Wake Forest University.

Shannon provides tax, accounting, and business advisory services for closely-held businesses and their owners. She also has extensive experience with not-for-profit organizations and start-up companies.
