Decrease in Standard Mileage Rate for 2009 The
IRS recently announced that the optional mileage allowance for automobiles
will decrease 3.5¢ from 58.5¢ to 55¢ per mile for
business travel beginning January 1, 2009. In addition, the
rate for mileage related to medical care or qualified moving expenses
will also decrease by 3¢ for 2009 from 27¢ to 24¢
per mile. |
